What do/does your chicken(s) do that make you laugh?

Mine line up at my back door first thing in the morning and again right around 6pm (their little internal clocks tell them when it's time for me to get home from work). The bucket of scratch is right inside the sliding glass door and they all just stare at it until one of us goes out to feed them their snacks. It's like watching kindergarteners line up. They peck at each other when one tries to "cut" in line. 9 chickens and 3 ducks are the perfect welcoming committee after a long day

Whenever i add something new to the coop they are just scared to death. I put in a different feeder the other day and the would not enter the coop. Stood at the door and stared at it, twisted and bobbed their heads for the longest time, then gathered in the far corner for at least 10 minutes. Then finaly a brave soul ventured over and gave it a small peck before running back to the corner with the rest of the chickens. Now i know why a fearful person is called a "chicken".

whenever I use the bathroom here, I swear I can hear one of my chickens laughing at me through the window...

I like the way they chase my hand around trying to grab my fingers....lol....some actually do and then they all get into a huge frenzy. They are only 4 weeks old. One of the girls gets all hot headed if my finger gets grabbed and chases them away. Its funny to see. Also when the gate to the cage is open they run ut and try to chase my husbands toes. LOL..freaks him right out!!!ahahahaha

I let my BO's and BSL's out one afternoon and that evening I forgot to go out and check on them. It was dark when I remembered and went out. The coop door had blown shut - and I found 4 of the 6 on the ladder next to the coop sleeping. A frantic search for the other two finally revealed them on the picket fence - one on top of the other roosting between the same pickets! I had to laugh as I picked them up and put them to bed! I was kind of frantic because I had lst a pullet to a racoon a few nights before!

Funny things...

How 12 week old Cochin banty tries to breed standard Orpington.

How when feeding my flock how all 3 of my EE's complain when they don't get some and then complain when they don't get more.

When I first got my tiny 4 lb silkie mix roo how it faught my 9 lb NHR roo tooth and nail and almost won!

How my BR's come up to me acting like they want to be picked up then run away like I have an ax.

When all 24 of my 12 week olds have to sleep right next to each other on the roosts.

My wife is visually impaired. She can see a bit but her vision isn't that great. The girls (8 TSC sex links) will do the carrier take off thing, i.e. running together and of them flapping as they gain speed, in the direction of my wife who gets flustered ad the sudden in rush of activity. She's a good sport about though.

I also have a certain tone that I use with them when I'm in the yard. I call "Hey girls" soft and sweet and they know that it's me so they crowd the part of the tractor run that is closest to me while whining and watching every move that I make.

The velociraptor run towards an uninvited sparrow on the ground ANYWHERE near the coop. Such focus! Such speed! Such opportunity for spearing the sparrow with a beak! (Such a view from behind!!!!)

The most-favored "hussy" who hides behind me when the rooster is heading her way with that gleam in his eyes.

The gathering of the entire flock on the back porch by the kitchen door when I get home from work. The dashes of the younger ones who are just learning why everybody is on the porch! The frantic "catch up" flap & run of the ones who were further out in the yard when I open the door.

The expression on the pullet(s)' face inside a nest box when I open it. She looks up at me as if to say, "Excuse me?!? I'm busy here!" And the soft complaining as I close the lid while she settles back down.

The way the four youngest in the yard hang together in the Littles "gang" - and that they're bantam breeds, and the black Cochin is the surrogate "mom" of the group.

The crowing of the two Sebright roos, who are part of the Littles gang. Somehow, the full-body stretch up WAY high to belt out a crow is just adorably funny when it's a Sebright.

....and more....

When I let my little chicks get ahold of my shoe laces to play tug of war (so funny when they are tugging and kicking up dirt lol).. When my 3month olds first saw our outside cat and thought she was momma or had food (had 20 chickens chasing the cat with wings flapping).. And listening to my roosters learn to crow cracks me up, they try to out crow the next but they all sounds horrible lol....

Sounds mean, but I love watching a hen chase around our skittish roo! I don't think I've ever seen him successfully mount a hen... he tries, gets scared, and gets chased!

I also love how one of the wyandotte girls hisses at me every time I come in the run. She has no problem eating out of my hand and letting me pet her, but she hisses like a cat.

Also, we have a wireless IP cam in our coop to watch for coons and stuff, and I keep it on throughout the day because I love watching them. This one hen comes in every day, sits in the straw, and STARES at the camera, sometimes for an hour! It's always the same hen (can tell by color) and always in the early afternoon. She never lays an egg, just sits and stares.

Kinda freaks me out actually.
