What do duck eggs look like?

Some of my eggs this week. One of my new layers, either a khaki or pekin, has now layed 2 of these "membrane" only eggs, no shell. Everyone tells me its probably because its the first ones. Also the small one is most probably from one of my young girls and its her first egg! Crazy fun to see these first eggs.

Oops it looks like it may be a harlequin egg.... This is what I found out in my research:

The Ancona is a hardy, adaptable, all-purpose duck. It is an excellent layer, typically laying 210-280 white, cream, or blue eggs yearly.


That egg is not white, cream or blue. hahahaha

my first eggs from my lady normaly is a "membran" egg. then with another egg or 2 they are nice and hard.

Whomever was laying my membrane eggs are now laying with the shell. I had 2 days of the softies and now they are hard. I'm pretty sure it is the same duck as it is laying in an odd place in my yard. Same place the last few times. Funny as each duck has their favorite location.
