What do EE's look like?

Thanks, Biddieacres & Bec! I sure love my EEs. They're all friendly, and a few are very verbal. I love happy chicken noises!

Oh, I love, love, LOVE my EE chickens.

I have 5 layers that I got as day old chicks from Cackle Hatchery that just turned a yr old in April. 4 of them lay pretty green eggs & 1 lays a pinkish light tan.

I love them so much that I ordered 5 more this yr. I guess the babies are about 7 weeks old now. I can't wait to see what kind of surprise egg color the new babies end up laying.

They are the sweetest chickens ever and full of personality! They are my absolute favorite of any of the breeds I own so far.

I also hatched some true breed Ameraucanas this yr in hopes to have some blue egg layers. They are super sweet also. They are about 7 weeks old. Love them too!

I'll see if I can find a pic to post.

rooster0209 - So you swapped eggs for something you'd never heard of?

Now THAT'S trust in the forum (assuming you traded with a BYC forum member). ; - )

When he said what they were mixed with, I knew those breeds, but EE I didnt know. But yes it probably was trust.

I started this chicken thing because I wanted a pretty bantie rooster on the farm. DH said a rooster wont stay w/out hens. So I thought ok, one rooster, two hens. Some friends of ours farm. I asked to buy some eggs/chicks from them. DH said incubating would be fun for me since I have never done it. So the friends, who have free range chickens, have me a bunch of eggs. I hatched 13 successfully. I am hooked. I had thought of raising purebred Silver laced wyondottes, but I dont think I am headed that way now...I am just going to enjoy having fresh eggs, and chickens in the yard
