Yeah... more space. Change from a white heat lamp to a red. Use stop blead on the wounds and blukote.

Yes that is fine, but as soon as you can try getting a red one. I've used white bulbs in my brooder and they work fine, but since switching to the red one it seems that the chicks are calmer.

Yeah, you can use a white light, the space thing is probably the most important.
You can try distractions like shiny things too...
