On day 22 and nothing. I had movement at day 18 when they went to lockdown. My temp is 100 with humidity at 60. Any suggestions. I planned the date to be home for the hatch. I'm getting discouraged.

Did you candle them on day 18 before lockdown? If so, was the eggs developing? I would wait until day 25 before I did anything. Then I would candle them. Just handle them gently, for they might explode and that is not good.

don't give up yet!!!!

try the water test - place the egg in a glass of water (the air cell should have it float) & wait to see if it moves. If it does - well you get the point.

I would candle again, and that is just me. I have had too many chicks die in the shell for who knows what reason to not candle and see what's going on. My last batch of eggs I had to pip 5 out of 6 of my chicks that lived. They were pullet eggs and I don't know if the chicks were weaker or the shells harder but the second I made that tiny little crack the chicks popped right on out. All of them had internally pipped already. If I hadn't candled I wouldn't have known to do this and I know I would have lost more than I did. Some people wait till day 25 but I personally don't. I've had success this way, others have success waiting. I think it is a personal thing and more of a "go with your gut" decision. Good Luck!
