Ok, my Crested Polish roo, is seemingly attacking my baby ducks for no reason. He's none to gentle with the hens. I don't think I could eat him and I have seen lots and lots of roosters for free on Craigslist. I think I have a cockerel by him, the chick has a little bit of a puff on the top of the head and he's my only Crested Polish. The chick has pretty colors and might end up looking like he's laced.

My rooster is a pretty bird but I don't think I can have him here behaving like this. I think he challenged me today but he didn't carry through so I'm not sure. Any ideas? Some kind of training? Sylvia

Attacking the baby ducks, rough on the hens, and considering challenging you? I think he'd have to go if he were mine. You might be able to modify his behavior towards you, but I doubt that the other behaviors can be changed.

I have two roosters and the other one is not challenging my Crested Polish. The Crested Polish is the alpha. Would it help to lock him up during the day and only let him out at night? Perhaps give the other rooster a little higher standing? Thanks, Sylvia
