What do I do with hole on incubator???

Hello, I'm new to Incubating and was wondering do I need to leave vent holes closed or open? Iv read 20 different things. I recently bought the incuview and right now i have cap off of hole. Just wounding what this holes purpose truly is. Thanks

The intention is that having them closed during incubation makes it easier to hold the heat and humidity stable. During hatch you open them to let I'm fresh air for the hatching chicks. A lot of people leave them open unless they're having humidity issues.

Ok thank you I live in Tennessee so humidity isn't a issue. But, what has worked best for you? Leaving them open or closed.

It's more an issue of your incubator's ability to hold a steady humidity level. If it does so with hole open, then I'd go with that. I leave mine open during the whole incubation period.

I left it open overnight without it and it has maintained good steady temperature.
