hello I have three 7 week old hens and a adult rooster and they all walk around the yard and one night I heard my rooster going nutts it was just starting to get dark and I looking the the trees and there was a huge hawk eyeballing them what do I do to get rid of this hawk it keeps coming back and I scare it away and it keeps coming back every time thank you

Realistically there is little that you can legally do to the hawk. They are a federally protected bird. Provide hiding places for your birds, pen them in a covered pen when you can not guard them, free range them only when you are there or realize that when free ranging losses are to be expected.

Agree with Sourland.

You could get a livestock guardian dog, raise and train him and hope it works out. Or you could keep them in a covered run. Free ranging exposes them to all predators - some much more destructive than a hawk.
