What do I dust my chickens with

Hi all, I have about 20 chickens , about 6 silkies and the rest are bantams. Me and my daughter hold them and I've noticed I have started to itch and so has my daughter. But when she itches she looks like she has whelps on her. Anyway I'm thinking it might be mites or bugs from the chickens. What do you use on them. and what do you use in the pen. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It sounds like mites. Many people use permethrin dust and spray, as well as sevin dust on lice and mites. Be sure to dust all birds, repeat in 7 days to get eggs, and clean out your coop and nest boxes and dust or spray nooks and crannies. I got this product from Tractor Supply Co. Worked excellently, the mites I had were gone in a day. They haven't returned. Was pretty inexpensive as well.
