Greetings!
I have been given 3 chickens.
Our kids have named them:
Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, Mrs. Gorf, and Miss Sparkle

We have eggs already. The chickens are reported as being 3 years old.
Any idea of what breeds we have? I'm clueless. I've done turkeys many times but chickens are a new thing for us.

The lighter colored one has puffy cheeks and a beard, she's an egger (maybe an Americauna, but not knowing her history I can't say for sure) and is laying your colored eggs. Not sure about the others though. Someone else w/ more experience will chime in about those.

So I googled egg colors and came up with this:

I'm thinking RIR and Andalusian based on colors? Need more info on what those chickens look like.

Easter eggers are kind of a mutt breed where the father was from a line of colored egg layers and the mother was any other kind of chicken. The father passes the egg color gene on to his female offspring. So even if your chicken is laying a blue or green egg, it's possible it's not a pure bred chicken.. those mixes are called Easter eggers or eggers for short. I have 4 eggers, 2 lay olive eggs and 2 lay blue eggs.
