    Nope! lol :D

That sounds about normal and usually they do not "quiet down" once they start. At least mine didn't... In fact, mine have gotten louder since they started that. Some breeds are quiet, but I believe most are pretty chatty and continue that if they start.

    Hi :welcome
Glad you could join the flock! I have to say too that mine have not got quieter as they have got older. In fact they have got louder too! One lays an egg and then everyone starts even one of my Roos!! Anyone would think he had laid an egg how he carries on! It's like a competion with them one starts and all have to try and beat them. In and out of the nest box checking the egg that has been laid, very funny when you watch them.

Good luck with them, and enjoy BYC :frow

Welcome to BYC, nice to have you join us!

My experience with the noise level seems to be the same as the others that have posted. Chickens are chatty, lol. If you want to get the neighbors on board with your birds, offer them some eggs once in a while. Or maybe they (or their kids) would like to come over to 'meet' your birds.

Have fun with your chickens and if you have questions, feel free to ask!

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

All my hens are much more vocal and "chatty" when in the laying stage.
