My dad has finally agreed to help me build a Cochin breeding coop. But we want to have some opinions on what to put inside.

If you guys were to be building a breeding coop for one breed would you rather have cages lines on the wall that could fit up to 3 birds.
OR
A coop with larger separate pens that separate colors or genders?

What breeding method are you planning on using? How are you going to manage them when it is not breeding season? Do you have separate facilities for that or will they be incorporated in this build? It sounds like you are planning on using trios, how many trios at one time? Your set-up needs to be based on how you plan to manage them.

I’m always in favor of adding more flexibility than the bare minimum. Plans often don’t always work out exactly as you plan them. But decide on a basic management plan and go from there.

I'm think trio breeding since I'm doing blue Cochins. I am going to build a coop, but I need an idea first

my bad.. i was just going off the thread subject line

I know. The subject line drew me in, too. I'm staying now because I'm interested in the thread, so in a weird way, thank you.

So....back to the topic. Continue with the discussion, please. :)
