What do thin whites mean?

Hey Carrie, how are you? I know you were down with a bum hand or something and haven't seen you much on the forums like I use to

Yeah, the hand's better, but now spring has sprung and I have so much to get done. I can't be hanging out on the forum when the actual chickens need attention.

I am really curious where you are Den..I am in the Springs, just south of you, but my fam is up there..Where do they allow chickens up there? I've never heard of people having chickens in Denver..

I guess I have slowed down on here a bit too. Lots of coop renovating, painting, baby chicks due, and yard cleanup as well. I love keeping busy out in the yard

Are you keeping track of how fresh the eggs are?

What I do is mark the carton with the date on which the first egg I put in there was laid. Then I know that all the eggs in that carton are at least that fresh. When I go to use eggs, I just pick the carton that has the oldest date so that I know I'm using up the older eggs first before I get to the fresher ones.

I have a few questions. Are your hens older? Is it more than one hen? Are they eating greens from an area that has been fertilized recently?
