What do you all use to line the nesting box?

I use straw in the nest boxes. Yes they do scratch it out somewhat but it helps supplement the pineshaving litter.

If the gaps under the fence are big enough for a chicken to get through it will. The gaps don't have to big. I've seen my ugly meat birds squeeze into a six inch space. Little peepers can get through a inch space.
