At our house it is always:

Tandori Chicken
Tahbouli (sp?)
Raita
Naan
Cold beer
Sangria

and about 20 good friends to set off fireworks over the lake

How about you?

That sounds good!! I'll be making jam today, plum and apricot! But probably grilling some chicken to put over pasta for dinner.

My favorite summer treat? Watermelon with a squeeze of lime!

We have no particular set menu but generally either smoke or grill something. Going simple this year and grilling some venison burgers.

Not our "usual cookout food" this year... I made DH his favorite..... meatloaf and tater tots.

I wanted to do BBQ Ribs, and stuff but we didn't have the money.

DH smoked a mess of ribs yesterday for today. He made potato salad and we have fresh fruit and lettuce salad. Also baked beans and sweet corn. I have been waiting for these ribs since yesterday morning!! We have an annual Ribfest in our town every year but it is getting too expensive so he decided last year to get a smoker and do our own. I am trying to get him to try smoking some of the chickens I processed this year. Maybe for the next picnic.
