I just got 27 chicks in the mail, and several have problems with their legs -- varying degrees of splay leg. Only one is really bad, the rest can stand up and walk OK, but about 4 or 5 others also have a touch of splay leg.

What can I do to help my little babies with splayed leg problems?

Thanks in ad vance for your help.

We are up all night together it seems! I am still waiting on a few to hatch here.....

Go into the search....upper right....and type in splayed leg or spraddle leg. Look through those threads and someone will post a link to see how to do it. I know because I looked it up earlier tonight.

Good luck with the babies!

This is what I use. Don't take it off until they are 10 days old....at least. Use rubberized shelving until they are out of the hobbles and walking well. Some folks use tape or a pipe cleaner to achieve this same result. I have featherlegged babies and this works best for them.
