What do you do when a rescue-to-release animal doesnt ---

I got to pet a tame possum several years ago. Fur was softer than a kitten. We'll have to ask rooster-red if wild possum is soft.

Imp-Likes it when the wild possums lick the cat bowls spotless

I've been raising abandoned squirrels for the last 4 years. When mine get to be about 4-6 weeks old I put them outside on the porch in a huge cage. Then every day I go outside with them in the yard. They love crawling all over me, running through the yard, up and down the trees and back to their cage. After about 3 weeks they eventually go into the trees and never look back. They'll still come back to the porch for treats for a few weeks but they stay out in the woods to live. I had one female who took off the first time I let her out

No problem XD I love hearing about things like that. My first rescue was a baby deer. His momma had twins and well she took off and left him alone for 3 days. Never returned with his sibling. I guess she decided she didnt have enough milk for two or something Im not sure but after 3 days he was bellowing for her and we brought him in, afraid he was going to get killed by something. It was hard keeping him out of the house. He just would not leave. Kept him for 2 years till he got so big (antlers and all) that we had to have him rehomed some where safe away from people.

Imp-I'll let you know the next time I get babies. Make sure to wear sweatpants with elastic on the bottoms or they'll crawl up your pants

I have a pic of him here when he was very little.

T.T Ignore the way I looked. I was a little country girl that just woke up after a long night with a deer in bed with her. ( like a baby with colic wanting fed all night long )
