I'm just curious with what people do with the chicks when they hatch and are month or so old?
Like do you hatch to sell or hatch to raise them yourself?

What are your opinions of colored chicks? I have seen a lot of pictures on the internet of pink/green/yellow chicks. (Just to let you know I am NOT going to be dying the chicks any colors.). I'm just curious to what chicken fanatics think of this.

I have seen some of these internet chicks and they look like they have been photo shopped for the color. That I think is fun, but to actually dye a chick is inhumane. Some of those dyes are not safe for little peeps.

We hatch eggs to increase our laying flock, or for meat.

i hatch chicks for friends (which is fun, cuz then i don't keep them all...of course if i lived in the country i would WANT to keep them all, lol). and i hatch for myself to replace the older layers in my lil' flock. then i give any roosters away (since i cant have roosters).
oh, and as for the colored chicks. i thinks its really ridiculus. for one thing its not good for the fuzzy butts, and for another thing....why do it? to get people to think that it's cute and to buy them? that's not a good reason to take on the responsibility of chickens.
