What do you DO with the MUCK pile?!

Maybe more organic matter? Coffee grounds, fine chopped leaves, etc...

Maybe do a layer of muck, sprinkle with dirt, add more muck, another layer of dirt... you get the idea.

Turn after a couple of weeks and you should have some compost.

Think 1 layer of green (veggie scraps, grass clippings etc) + one layer of brown (dead leaves, straw, pine shavings) plus chicken poo. Keep adding in layers. Mix about once a week, keep moist.

The stuff at the bottom will be black gold!

Grass clippings seem like they make my compost pile really wet and slimy. They do make it hot though.
Actually all of my compost piles have turned into slimeballs, and our yard drains really well so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. It turns into good fertilizer despite the slimy-ness of the pile itself
