What do you feed your breeding chickens?

So on another note, does anyone feed the wild bird feed mix as a 'scratch' or treat? It has lots of millet and sunflower seeds. I am wondering if its ok for chickens?

Yes, I have tried to feed that Knockout before and they wasted more than they ate, picking out what they liked!!! But it is a really good looking feed.

It is a good feed and they only get it used like scratch, thrown on the ground in the a.m. and used to call them back home when they free range. They would only eat that if I mixed it in the feed, for sure! The only one who gets it as his main feed is my Zane.

My chickens love Knockout. They eat all of it.

I raise mealworms, and I make food for them too. Usually rice and eggs or oatmeal and eggs with kelp powder.

It took 2 years, but I FINALLY have the birds eating BOSS. I had to start with putting it in a baked pumpkin half to get them to even try it. I do not know why it took so long.
