Hi all, Mumma duck has hatched another batch of sweet little babies.
This time she had 13.
I am giving them turkey starter both moistened and dry, lettuce, rolled oats, and thin pasta cooked.
Has anyone any suggestions for anything else?
Appreciate any hints!!!
Thanks

I would feed mine Purina Baby Duck Chow. Now I have to go get me a duck.

There is one nutrient you need to make sure they get, that is not in chicken starter (and I don't know if it is in turkey starter). If I remember correctly it is Niacin. You can buy it in vitamin form and add it to water, or you can feed them broiler starter mixed with oats, wheat bran, and good quality cat kibble. Those are the two ways that I know how to ensure a proper base diet.

I also enjoy feeding them lots of greens, sprouts, etc.

Sorry MUM, the Mum title gives you that right.

I thought I might like ducks, I met a little white Call duck this past weekend that I would have brought home if I could have got away with it. I was looking at it and it cooed at me and was friendly. I just havent had any, but if you say I cant have one I guess I cant. I know I like REAL chickens so I guess I will stick with them.

You could feed them loaf after loaf of plain white bread, thats what the ducks and geese at the park eat. Maybe some crackers, left over french fries. I saw a guy try to feed them cigarette butt, but they didnt seeem to like those, not to worry he threw it in to the fish, maybe they will like it.
