What do you freeze them in?

We are going to butcher our meat birds this weekend and I'm wondering what is the best thing to wrap them in? Do you use freezer paper, freezer bags, saran, tinfoil, etc.???
Thanks so much!

My friend took his to a butcher also and used a vacuum sealing machine they looked like you got them from a grocery store. They will last a long time without freezer burn.

I use freezer bags but since I don't have a vacuum sealer, I put the meat in the bag, close it most of the way and then put the bag into a bowl of cold water, up to the zipper. The water forces the air out of the bag and then I close it. The water acts as a vacuum sealer.

That is a great suggestion! I would bet that would work much better than freezer paper :) Thanks much!

My vacuum sealer is my best friend. I haven't butchered any chickens yet, but when DH gets a deer it comes in very handy!
We have the Gamesaver Silver, and it has been going strong for over three years!
