cocunt, try turning off the lighted pathway....see if that makes them want to go into the coop. worth a shot!

Jen4, did you find any mites/lice?

I went and looked... didnt see any mites but I did find an egg. (thats our 4th one since last Tuesday

) Anyways back to mites... there are 18 chickens in the coop going to bed just fine and then theres 16 on the rabbit hutch

Theres plenty of spots to roost in the coop still... I'm sitting on the back porch

to see if any more go in. Dh and I are going to rig up something so they cant get up there this weekend.

Yeah I'm not picking their fat cracks up and putting them in the coop anymore... did that last night...guess if they want to sleep out in the run so be it... even though I dont like it.

We had trouble with our Buff Orps roosting on top of the nest box. I finally got a couple of those large plastic signs (like a convenience store has out front advertising soft drinks, etc.--large like poster board) and made a slanted half-roof over the nest box. They can't roost on the slick slanted surface.
