About a week ago I noticed my young rooster of 8 weeks with a swollen eye lid. No bubbles in eye or wheezing. A few days later two of my 8 week pullets developed a swollen eye lid as well.. been treating all three with terrimycin (not sure of spelling) today I let my flock out and noticed some sneezing from a couple pullets in the run ( not either of the ones with swollen eye lid) and one pulled slightly gasping... all are active and eating drinking normally.. should I get tylan and treat them all? Will that be the right med? Maybe mycoplasma or something else? No stinky smells.. most poops seem normal but an occasional runny one with no blood. I don't want to lose them .. please help

It sounds like mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG,) a chronic respiratory disease which can be transmitted to other chickens and vertically through hatching eggs. Tylan injectable given orally 0.25 ml per pound 3 times daily for 3-5 days is a good treatment. The generic tylosin powder for the water can be ordered online here:

Ok ty I was thinking maybe MG when my roosters eye lid swelled but there no other symptoms at the time. Now I have approx 3 week old chicks in an enclosure as you can see in the picture.. they are separate but not seperate.. should I treat them as well tho no symptoms as at?

It is not good to treat for MG unless there are symptoms. Make sure coop ventilation is good, prevent spills or wet bedding, and try to keep your coop as cool as possible in hot weather. Close your flock to new birds. Any birds leaving your flock should be considered carriers. Try to keep the sick birds far away from those without symptoms, wash hands, and wear clean shoes around the chicks.

The right stuff? Says for swine and cattle? Will it hurt to give tylan just in case? They act fine except for noticing the slight gasping from one this morn and the occasional sneezing.. does tylan treat any other respiratory diseases? Am deep cleaning coop today
