What do you think of Dutch Bantams?

I've personally heard that dutch males are nasty little buggers. I'm sure not all of them all and that you can work with them, but the few Dutch breeders I've talked to have told me they tend to be meaner than other breeds.

A few of them maybe, in some lines, but they are lightweight, nothing a pair of rainboots can't handle. They tend to go for the ankles not the crotch.

Dutch roo's cant be any worse than the little OEG bantam i bought my daughter. He was feathered terror for my daughter lol. Finaly had to got rid of him he got so bad, i didnt like using him for a soccer ball every time i went in to feed,water, and get eggs.

I just got a dutch roo and he's pretty sweet. Actually i havent been attacked yet by a dutch. Anybody want my dutch roo though? I don't have room for it

I have a beautiful little pair of Dutch that I hatched early this year. They are very cool little birds, and my roo is a sweetheart (lets me pick him up, sits on my shoulder and snuggles under my hair or chin...). I've never had them before, but I'm smitten. We just had a family of raccoons wipe out several of my young Ameraucanas and Marans--so, while we take care of the raccoon problem, my Dutch are living on my porch/in the house at night.

I would just be sick if something got to them! And just FYI, I am not one to snuggle my chickens or let them stay in the house (other than just-hatched chicks), so that says something about how much I like these birds.

Ryu, I will have to post pics for you! I'm so glad I ended up with a pair--and they are quite a good-looking couple!
