Look at that list of .coms.... Dont ya think if they were going around the probable cause requirement to get a warrant they would have hit more .coms than that.... I mean there are thousands of sites breaking copyright at any given time. These are probably the ones that they had enough proof to legally do what they did.

Look at the wikileaks situation. I am the strongest proponent of freedom of speech out there - but this leak was wrong. He endangered ALL of us by releasing info with no real consideration for the potential consequences to international relations. If shouting fire in a crowded theater is wrong then this was certainly wrong.

Oh i know about wikileaks.. You know what i think? It's like showing goverment that some informations are not protected enough. Our prime minister told that in his opinion the "wikileaks problem" is a problem of u.s.a. administration that couldn't keep a secret, sooo i think he has right. That "wikileaks" guy is more hmm "learning" thing that harmfull for you, because if he could have those informations - i'm sure that many others could too.

I think these folks complaining about the sites being down are just mad they finally got busted and there are consequences to be honest. Everybody wants something for free

leaving the artists...the ones who actually WORKED... with nothing. The sites should be taken down. We wouldn't have so much problem with government in the first place if folks were just honest and believed in EARNING what you have. Eh, for once, I say good for the government, though they have bigger fish to fry I would think, I do not see this as a bad thing. As far as pushing to see how far they can go...umm..that's probably what these sites did...and should expect an equal and opposite reaction.

This reminds me of an argument with my teenager. Every week for a couple months she skipped a chore because she did not "want" to do it. After 5 or 6 weeks of warning and still getting paid her allowance, I cut her off from the cash flow. ONE. BIG. STOMPING. FIT. I think these site owners are just having their one big stomping fit in cyberspace. Aw...feel sorry for me because I messed up and got busted and now I have to pay the price.

I think wikileaks did just what they should have did. They are not a US entity so the info getting in to there hands is the issue, not them posting it. Its not there job to worry about national security for a country they are not in. An there's no way that your going to get me to believe that the big news outlets would have sat in this an not published it. They may have spread it out to milk it longer but it would have been put out there.

Pretty sad how innocents were killed. It almost looked like a video game. Perhaps people will finally admit when they do something wrong-when it is out there for all to see-and make changes so it does not happen again. Unlikely,but one can hope.

If the US had done nothing wrong there would be nothing to leak. Same for any other country.If you do something *bad* and want to keep it a secret then you need to destroy the evidence.


Hard for people to make money off their music when everyone is downloading for free. One site gets shut down and 2 others go on line.Will never really be able to stop it.

Strange - today I found the news that there is proposition of law about blocking sites in EuroParlament AGAIN. The lead argument is that is will prevent pedophilia. But the text of that law, and possible use of it in fact supports pedophilia oO Because: 1. if they block that sites, nobody will be able to find such content trough net and report it to police, 2. that will be warning to owners of that sites, showing them they are "under eye" so they will dissapear FAST and i guess they will put their sites in another place. Blocking sites was once disputed in my country few months ago, and after consulting with many experts government left that as a not good and possible dangerous idea. So news from today are really very suprising in not nice way.. It seems the politics think that people as society are stupid or something, and thay can do whatever thay want? Like they are not chosen by people.
That "blocking" law,as experts showed, in fact builds the mechanism of future possible censorship, that can be used not to this, but to block generally ANY site i.e. : religious, political. Soo it opens gates to possible dictatorship in future. I thought Europe has that things left behind,( you know, communism, nazizm) but, it seems i was wrong. @@ And in fact if similar laws are proposed in U.S.A. it seems to be kind of coordinated action?
