What do you think of my brooder?

Hey everybody!

I've seen so many good ideas on this place for brooders, I just couldn't help but make one myself.
So I got a plastic box and cut a hole in the top and covered it with wire, then put boards on it to help it stay in better.
I'm trying to decide if I wonna let a broody hen that is setting on eggs have the chicks that are going to hatch under her next week or raises them myself in this brooder. I just can't wait to set-up this brooder with feeder/waterer, heat lamp and bedding etc ... haven't had chicks in such a long time! ( Since last year!!! ) lol
What are your thoughs of this brooder?

Ours is like that. Only instead of wood, we have some lovely green duct tape to match the handles. It works very well. You did a good job.

I did have some help, though so I don't get all the credit for building the brooder!

How many chicks do you think it can hold? If I put any chicks in there next week there will only be 4 if all of them hatch.

I sure hope this brooder works good, it'll be nice to just put the heat lamp on-top of the wire.
