Your orpingtons are laying blues? Nice, how did you manage that one? I love my blue, blue/green eggs but the amerucanas are the meanest chickens I have personality wise. They make no bones about pecking the heck out of you when you reach under to get an egg. Love to have a buff personality with the blue/green eggs!

I think if you crack that olive egg, you will see that the shell inside is actually blue. It just looks green because the hen adds some brown coloring on top of the blue egg shell. For whatever reason, with that blue one, the hen is not adding brown on top of the base blue. That is all genetic, so yes, there is some EE in there somewhere. Maybe it was the rooster since the eggs you hatched from were brown.

Just my .02... if you have orps that are laying colored eggs I would run with it. People love colored eggs, put that with a pretty bird and you have something great for backyard flocks.

Now obviously if you bought them with the intention of showing/breeding to APA standard that won't fly.

Either way, pretty egg.

I have a blue Sumatra pullet. She lays 5 blue eggs a week, same color as your middle egg. So I named her blue. She obviously has a litte EE in her. Nice eggs!
