Just found some new baby chick for sale, rir and white leghorns were breed together what do you think of that? Also some deleweare and some white rocks, not beed together. h ow would they go with my rir 9 month olds. any opinions on anything ofd those

I don't know about the Leghorn mix. Leghorns can be mean... they others will do fine, but you'll need to get them to the same size as your current chickens before introducing them, otherwise you'll risk the smaller ones being picked on.

Leghorns are not mean..the roos are protective of their flock. The RIR leghorn cross makes some outstanding egg layers and they taste good too! It's a nice cross for anyone wanting just a little bit bigger of a bird without loosing much of the egg machine!
Delaware's are super..personally my roos would rather let anything eat his girls.. if they had to protect anything it would be in trouble quick. Beautiful and super egg layers plus real good dinner roos.
White Rocks are also real nice but not as mellow as the Delaware's are.
Agreed you would need to let them grow up first so they didn't get a horrible experience from the big ones..even that sweet older pullet will be a mean ol witch to the new kids most of the time.

My Leghorns are not mean! They are not "lap chickens" like some of the others, but I can pet them and they eat out of my hand.
