What do you use to candle

I used a regular flashlight partly covered with foil to make a 1/2 inch wide hole. Worked fine on my leghorn eggs.

I use a small led flashlight bought at walmart. tried to find one only about an inch or so across. it even works enough on marans eggs to at least see if anything is going on in there or not.

I use a super bright led lamp. Just started using it, so still working on the best setup with it, but so far so good (can see a dot in a BA egg!

Was using a lamp with no shade, in a coffee can, with a 100W light bulb. Cut bottom off can, replaced with cardboard. Cut hole in coffee can lid that was egg sized, and covered the rest of it with duct tape (too much light leakage). Worked pretty well, but heated up and seemed on the verge of melting the plastic.

I like flashlights since you don't even have to take eggs out and you can do 60 eggs in about 5 minutes.
