thanks

I use a bleach and water mixture to spray it down really good. Then I rinse it very well in hot water and put it in the sun to dry. Of course you can't do that to the top but I still spray it and wash it down Mine has a turner so I do that as well.

The egg turner racks that I bought actually say that they can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Has anyone tried this? I am just now incubating for the first time, so I haven't had to clean it yet.

I don't know if I'd want to wash them with our dishes, but I was curious what others do. The dishwasher does use very hot water and the dishwasher soap has bleach in it.

Brinsea makes an incubator disinfectant but I have not used it. I just used Tek Trol disinfectant sprayed inside for the first use of my incubator. Also used it to disinfectant the eggs based on an article I read. Jeff

Is a Vinegar and water spray good to
santize the bator? I have
never clean the eggs going into the bator.
and before using for cooking
all I have done is wipe them with a damp
paper towel.

I use bleach water. I found the smell to be really strong. SOmeone here mentioned using vinegar after the bleach to neutralize the bleach smell. Someone said to use peroxide to clean the bator.

For my styrofoam bators, I wash in dish soap and water and then repeat with Clorox Clean-Up (or you could use bleach/water). Rinse well and when I can, I set it in the sun to dry.

For my cabinet bator, I wipe it out good with damp paper towels and then spray it with a disinfectant spray that I found at TSC. Can't remember what it's called off-hand but it's in an aerosol can with a blue label. Lysol is worthless.

I also put the plastic hatching trays and turning racks in the dishwasher and have never had a problem.

i use bleach/water in a spray bottle. have good hatches most of the time. 17 out of 20, 20 out of 25 and 8 out of 10. i just wash out with hot water and take it out to my hatch room and plug it in and let it dry itself out.
