What do yous think

My nephew bought one of these. I wanted to slap him when my sister told me. They aren't the most reliable. Both their temp and humidity gage was off, it would not get up to temp at all. I've seen many people leave the bottom portion of the styrofoam around them to get them to hold temp. My sister had to put a heating pad under theirs to keep temp up because by then they'd thrown out the packaging. Not a bator I would ever recommend. They are basically a Janoels knock off. Often called Chinese knock offs.
That's what I have been told too-----you and I could Probably hatch some with one of these----not sure about out hatch rate---being as good!!!

Thanks all! Again.as a newbie to this I wasnt aware of this. Ill try again once I get some styrofoam and hopefully ill have a better outcome. Im currently on day 21 so ill wait a few more day before I dispose of these eggs just to give at least the third egg a chance. Yous have been soo helpful

Ok so another question. Tonight marked day 24. Didnt notice anything so was gonna candle just to see. Then dispose of the eggs. First egg was no different. Second egg had the red ring. Third egg was completely black. Just just about to dispose but I.noticed a small chip out of the third. Could it have piped? Also could I have done any harm to the unhatched chick if it did pip and is still alive? I put it straight back into the bator with all fingers crossed. Also after all your advice about my bator I bumped up the temperature to make up for it not being great at holding the temp I would really love for this chick to.make it and I hope i didnt ruin its chances I feel so bad

I candle all the way through, even with pippers. I pull them out and talk to them, I roll them back over when they get knocked around. My point? No, you didn't ruin it. I would have checked to see if it was even alive. Chances of a strong thriving chick at day 24 isn't great, so if it doesn't hatch, know it wasn't because you picked it up.

You have not done any harm that is not already done----eggs Can hatch Late if something is wrong----but day 24----it has less of a chance of being healthy that late. if it was alive it would Probably be chirping every once and a while.
Did you have a second thermometer to check the factory one on this incubator? Its probably not anything you have done----this incubator has some bad reviews-----not that it want hatch eggs, but in order to do so all the meters and controls probably need to be by passed if possible or something??? Sorry

Thankyou both. Still nothing. When I held the eggs I carefully put it to my ear and heard nothing. I expected to hear chirping I think the chick didnt make it. Ive also been checking to see if the eggs moving and giving the bator a tap and calling hello and listening. I dint know if I should go ahead and dispose of the egg or give it more time. One thing tho ive learnt im really impatient haha
