Will she look like a regular brown Araucana? The ones I have now looked like chipmunks as babies and they turned out brown/black. These look yellow like a leghorn chicken.

Heres a pic. Ignore the hat lol.

It's not an Ameraucana. It looks like a Brahma. Feathered legs, yellow skin, buff? coloration (might be a light Brahma -- I can't tell with the lighting of your photo), no extra cheek fluff... I know EEs can look like anything and are often sold as Ameraucanas but hatchery EEs tend to have certain features and this chick has none of those.

sounds like your previous chipmunk chicks are really easter eggers and this chick in the picture (as already pointed out) is not an ameracuana and does look to have feathered legs. pictures of it without the hat and showing the head and comb would be helpful

I didn't notice the feathered legs, and already knew they weren't real ameraucanas, just didn't want to say anything... it sure is cute! since it does have feathered legs, and such, maybe it's a light brahma?

I dont know much but the way her wings are starting to feather does look like my Light Brahmas as babies yellow and turned whitre with black on thier wingsand neck, tail later feather legs.( My avatar)LOVE My LBs!!!

Dont worry guys...I couldnt care less what breed they are. We just got them for free so if they arent "real" Ameraucana's its no big deal. Long as it lays eggs it will have a spot on my roost.

If they are Light Brahmas I am even happier as we will have more variety in the flock. I guess it will be a surprise.

If it is an EE I guess there is no way to tell what it will look like when its grown up unless I knew what the parents were?

Can you post a pic of the chicken now so we can see what it turned out to be? We just got some free baby chicks from my son's school who hatched the eggs and we're curious to know what kind they are and what they'll grow up to look like.
