What does it mean "has zipped completely around the egg"?

Does it refer to the process of cracking the egg apart?
I looked in the glossary but there wasn't a definition.

yes, it means the chick has made an opening all around the egg. You can see pics of it in most of the threads of hatching chicks on here....we love to post pics and we love to see them.
