What does it mean when chickens fluff their entire body?

Mine also re-situate their feathers after having been the object of the rooster's attention

yup when i first got my chicken it was in my room and it looked in the mirrorand lifted its neck hairs ur and jumped and pecked the mirror and clucking loooooud!!

Mine always do that after the rooster mates them like they are saying DARN YOU now ya messed up my plumage!

They also shake like that after a dust bath or when they are cold. My guess would be they are putting their feathers back in place after doing something that messed them up

I have a Turken, Joesiphine (the breed is supposedly very friendly to people.) Not this one! She detests being held. I have been trying to hold her a lot since she was a baby, but it never did any good. Anyway the other night after I held her for a bit, I put her down and she was SOOO MAD

Every single feather was straight up in the air, even the ones on her head. So she basically had a mo-hawk because her neck is completely bald. And she has black feathers, so it was really dramatic. It was one of the funniest things I have seen.
