what does lockdown mean exactly when incubating eggs

With that one you would fill up both troughs in the bottom and take the dividers out so the eggs can lay on their sides.

do I leave the seperate tank thats used for humidity connected along with filling the troughs??

Hopefully my opening the 'bator several times a day to turn them hs kept humidity down. I did have one hatch successfully yesterday and OMG she's cute. I won't do eggs at multiple stages again.
