My rooster attacked me and I kicked him and he ran off scared and then began walking around making mad noises and doing this with his neck frill

They do the big wing flappy movement to show they are in control, and they raise those neck feathers (called hackle feathers) as a show of aggression.

I knew the flappies mean control but I’ve always seen him rais all the hackle feathers not just the neck and head ones
