what does this mean??

when your chick looks like it is gargling something?
I picked up some TSC chicks today

and they keep doing this funny gargling thing with their
mouths/throats. never seen this before.

Did they just drink a lot of water? Sometimes they do that if they drink a lot. Make sure that they don't run out of water.

they have plenty of water and food.
no not gasping for air either i dont think.
they are all doign it on and off.
they did drink and eat alot when i got them home.

Can you describe the gurgling in a little more detail?

Is it more like when a chick takes a drink, and it tilts it head straight up, and 'slurps'?

Are they just sticking their necks straight out, opening their beak really quick, and closing it again, like they are yawning?

Or do they have their beaks open for a few minutes?

young chicks aren't very skilled at drinking. They bubble and gurggle some times in the beginning.

thats possible.. do they have large area to get out of the heat light if they want to?

yes they do have lots of room.
but they arent moving around.
i repositioned the lamp and
handled each one. now they
are up eating and drinking.
