what does this mean??

ok well mine do this thing when u blow on them they stretch their necks & open their mouths like they are crowing & they do it when they are outside & the wind is blowing.... no clue y tho

2 of my 2 week old chicks have done this while I'm with them (who knows when I'm not there?) I figured that they might have a little bit of 'fluff' down their throats since they spend so much time preening. I put some chick feed in my hand and stuck it in the brooder, making sure the silent 'crowing' chick had access. That seemed to do the trick - although I also stuck around to make sure they took a drink and settled down.

It's probably like having a hair in your throat - not threatening, but uncomfortable. One person's opinion.

Good luck

well the temp was unknown.
my 3yr old took the little thing to bed wth her.

but i got it back and put it in. temp is fine as of now but
i did reposition the heat light so it could have been to high
or could have been fine. they seem to be just fine now though.
i will update again later to let you know if they are still doing it.
