What does this skin irritation look like?

What does this look like? The black parts look like scabs? There looks like something dark underneath the skin? I'm new to keeping hens. I thought maybe it was a fall malt, but then I examined closer and saw this seemingly under the skin...

Looks like a bruise. Hard to say what caused it. Nothing to worry about though.
