what does this sound mean?

    My rooster is a very cool roo and every now and then he will stand on one foot look around and make a loud high pitched humming sound. what does that mean?

    I think it means that he is mad or worried. he always makes the sound when im sneaking up on him or grabbing one of his girls.

    Is it sort of like a growl? My boys do that when they are concerned about something, but not quite ready to sound the real alarm call. It's kind of a "look out, that might be dangerous" sound.
