This is inside my tiny add on coop for my "picked on" hen and a roo.

This guy has been around since summer. There was 3 baby opossums under my deck. We caught two and relocated them but one scurried away. I have spotted him here and there and tried to catch him. Time for a have a heart trap!

Yes, we are relocating. No, I will not "dispose" of him. Im of the belief that we cant kill everything within a 10mile radius of the coop. I respect and support what each person does to protect their own flock, even if I dont agree. So please, no suggestions of that manner. My ladies, and gentleman, are safely locked in at night.

Amen! and looks like you've got an egg thief on your hands. If you are in a town big enough (I'm not) you might check and see if animal control or local humane society has a hav-a-heart trap you can borrow, as opposed to buying one.

Yeah---I worked at a local vet for 10 years -still fill in- my BFF

is the tech supervisor, so she is bringing one home for me to borrow.

I think he has been around for many months, but we have eggs hatching soon in the house- and I dont want baby chicks out there. Also, I have bantams, so I worry about them a bit more. I already have a place to move him too. My old boss from the vets is also a neighbor--thats where I let the first two go.....

I think they are cute...but I can clearly see teh ugly too! I have rehabbed a few (legally) and even the babies hiss at you and are nasty!!

My SO rolls his eyes when I say the same thing about armadillos! Only I don't think dillos get angry

I've seen one (a dillo) being harrassed by both of our dogs and the cat and he just went along his merry way and paid them no mind at all.

I had a momma possum and her 13 babies under my porch (before chickens) She scared the snot out of the guy who was trying to fix the porch...I came back and she had taken off, but lost a couple of the babies. One she took back and the other I took to the Wildlife Center...This was in the morning when I dropped my son off at school...it was funny to see the poor guy's expression! LOL I left the single baby out where she could see him and when it was time to pick up my son, it was still there. So I got a box, put the baby into it and got my son at school...The baby who I named Hiccups because that's what he did, wouldn't stay in the box...He hung off my finger.

The parents were like when'd you get a rat and I'd hold him up for a better look, and I think I scared them worse when I said he was a possum...

Try smacking an armadillo with a shovel and see how mad they get!! :thun I had one turn and growl at me. It was a battle of wills, I won at the end. RIP

The way I figure it is that God is lettin me take up some space on this earth for a short while just like all the other critters. If Mr. Hawk or Mr. Coon figure a way to feed themselves or their youngins by catchin one of my chickens now and then it's not up to me to hold a grudge. I feed the chickens and the Mr. Hawks babies sometimes. I do have a problem with the neighbor's dog, dogs or cats who wish to steal my chicken's life when they have good food at home. The pets God takes care of I tolerate, another man's misbehaving pet no way...
