What duck is this?

A friend of mine found this in a park in California. I have never seen anything like it. I'm assuming it's a bantam cross of some type but i have never seen the coloring. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

It could be a female, of the brighter color doesn't return, but yes they are very pretty ducks. We have 1 pair in our aviary (domestically hatched not removed from the wild) with the Mandarin ducks. They are fun to watch, but not a pet, or a duck you free range as they are skittish and could also fly away.
