What exactly does F1 mean?

Well I'm back from the road trip and finally got the new pheasants settled into their new pens. This is the paperwork he gave me-(written by himself) One pair Amhearst pheasants hatched may 1st 2008 rec. from Roman Schlabach near Akron Ohio-he also gave me his phone number-They came from F1 stock shipped at 3 months of age , also 1 roo and 3 hens hatched spring 2009. But regardless of where they did or didn't come from I am very happy with them. They are honestly some of the prettiest Amhearst I have ever seen. But they probably are not true F1s or F2s!

Yes, that is odd the Amherst coming out of Africa.
You think that is odd, do you or anybody else know of any Siberian Grouse here in the states?
There have been 15 shipments totally 172 birds from 2004 to 2007 from Indonesia.
I know they are like our Spruce Grouse.

If he said he sold you F1's,he needs to provide you with a copy of their documentations.If he can not provide a copy,they are not F1's.It would be nice if we could trust everyone,but I think everybody knows better.Even if he bought them from Roman,there is no way that you can know if they are the exact birds he bought from Roman.They are beautiful birds.

If they came from Roman you got great birds and a definite possibility of some f 1-4 birds. Yes poultrylady he is well known in the bird world. also edited to say you can probably call Roman and find out cause he loves talkin "about birds" also if you dont get them Mearns PM me

No,I know Roman Kmickikewycz,not Roman Schlabach.He is a member of the APWS,so I'm sure he has good birds.I was just saying there is no way of you knowing that these are the exact birds that he bought from Roman S.If they are indeeed F1's,the seller would supply you with certification.If they don't,I wouldn't count on them being F1's.Actually they would be F2's if they are from Roman S breeders.I'm sure F1 birds would cost 200.00+ per pair.

woops, yep Tony, that's the Roman I meant too, never been able to pronounce his last name, but yes Roman K. not S.
