What features would you like in a flock management software?

Good to see you're still working on that! For me, ease of use is the thing. My favorite system for keeping track of eggs is just a grid where you fill in with the number of eggs for that day. Or if keeping track of each hen's laying, a grid with dates across top and names horizontally, a check or something in each cell. Often software like this has you fill in the date, then this, then that, etc etc and it just gets to be a pain to use. A visual grid is so much easier for egg stuff.

For breeding, etc. the database system works fine though.

The hen Id Tag is displayed, Laid check boxes are auto checked, and the date is the current date (Year-month-date format)

the date for mass insertion of eggs has been changed to a prefilled input with today's current date:



i am also going to be adding a medical records section as well. Ps. Hen Id uses the id you give them. So it could be anything like 173283 or 493

Hey Cockerels, and Pullets

i have been doing some thinking. Instead of you needing to download and set this up etc. This well be a web app. So as long as you have internet you well be able to use it! All you need is an account. I have set the price at 5.45/month but have a discount code for those early shoppers to save them 30% so it's under 4 bucks a month! Hope to have it up by the end of next week. And these are the features in this first version

-Egg Tracking (including adding multiple eggs at once, you can also have different dates)
- Poultry Tracking/Info system
- Expenses & sales Tracking ( can be sorted by month and year)
- Medical Tracking
-Feed usage & tracking

Everything can be downloaded as Word or Excel Document for easy sharing with others.


I have decied to go about it this way because it makes bug tracking, devloping, etc easier. It also gives you the most stable option you can have. And we worry about the backups so you don't have to!
