This sounded so unique, I had to look it up. There's so many different recipes! Do you have a specific one you use?

There definitely are a lot. I use the recipe my Mom gave me, but I've modded it slightly. My guess is her recipe originally came from the back of a C/H sugar box back in the day. That's great as-is, and works well with any kind of apple from sweet to tart. You can bake it in a loaf pan or a 9x12 cake pan. It doesn't have to be a tube pan, it just ends up a bit more dense (IMO not a bad thing at all).

You can mix it up with other nut types, some different chips (white chocolate or caramel for example), and tweak the ratios of the spices to suit your taste.
