Hi! My chicks are 8 weeks old right now and I’m curious to their genders really I just wanna know Mabel’s gender she’s the black headed one with red and black in her body. I’m pretty sure the rest are hens but Mabel just seems suspicious….

They all look like girls. I agree about Mabel, but am leaning girl.

Sadly not Betty is crowing full throttle this morning and Mabel has boy feathers entirely like the whole tail and hackle area is long they’re all past 11 weeks now. What are the odds I get 2 out of 4 from a pullet only ben.I’m so attached and upset.

I just discovered Paisley is in fact Lee with is rendition of a crow that sounds like a feral cat fighting. About 6:00 a.m. this morning.

I notice EEs have a pretty high mis-sexing rate, so that might be part of it.

Can you post pictures of all the birds that are crowing? Mabel is definitely a cockerel but I really don't see cockerel traits in the others

I think you’re right, I suspected Betty was the crowing one but it turned out to be MabelI had to catch him in the act. Betty is just huge though so she’s still throwing me off I’ll post them Betty and mabel do not get along at all by the way legit Mabel will full throttle grab at Betty’s neck and peck her in the face.
