What gender are my chicks??

So I am a new chicken mom, I have three three week old chicks that I bought at a week old from a local ranch store that guaranteed 90% pullets. However this morning my bf swore that he heard one try to crow, now I didn't even think they could crow at such a young age- but I have not raised chickens before so I am not sure. If anyone could help me try to tell the gender it would be much appreciated!!

chick #1(has largest white spot on head)

chick #2 (the friendliest, second largest white spot on head)

chick #3 (the most aggressive, very small white spot on head)

Hi Allie,

The links don't appear to work. I'm anxious to see them (and read follow-up responses) because I am in nearly the exact same situation, with 6 adorable little barred rocks that are a little over two weeks old.

Looks like 3 barred rock pullets to me... I was a little torn on chick 1... Looked a lot like a blk sexlink roo???

how do u tell if it is a roo or hen???

All three appear to be Barred Rock pullets. I look at comb development almost exclusively for gender ID.

Those are pullets. Roos are much lighter in color and their comb gets color pretty dang quick.

Thank you everyone! such a relief knowing they are hens, the neighbors would not be too pleased if I had Roos!
