What gender are my Coturnix Mix

They are around 4 weeks old. I'm able to tell the genders on my other 5 but these 3 have me wondering!

Nice birds. Have you tried vent sexing? Where you press just above the vent and if white foam comes out (eww) it's a boy? Mine aren't old enough to do that with yet, but looks straight forward enough if you can't tell otherwise

you cant visually sex mutation quails. you have two tuxedos (top and bottom) and one tibetian (middle).

if they are 4 wks old they probably wont be producing the foam yet. but you can tell by looking inside the vent. a little bump on the belly side of the quail means a boy, females have more of an indent. or you can wait another few weeks and judge on behaivour..

Look at the vent on the golden speckled female. Then look at the vent on the golden male. Compare them to the vents on the tuxedos. The females vent will be wider from side to side and if you press on the pelvic bones they will be spread wider (to allow egg passage) than the males. Big butts girls small butts boys more or less. Sometimes at the age you are showing in the pic it is still hard to vent sex but not too bad, it will be good practice for you. The foam method for the males works only if they are old enough to produce it and the birds you are showing are not quite to sexual maturity.

So they are now 3 month, 2weeks old. Still no eggs but I'm hopeful that the extra daylight will trigger some eggs! I had to cull one if the Roos at 6 weeks, he was vicious! I heard a shaky crow the other day from one of my known 2 males. I tried to vent sex, well I wasn't able to get any of the foam to come out. Then I left the coop door open and 4 of them scurried out, lol, the chickens laughed at me as I hustled around trying to capture the
Little birds!
They are healthy and mostly happy when they aren't spooky, so a bit more patience and hopefully I'll know the genders and have some delicious eggs!

This is my male, swollen vent, white stuff comes out. Female has a less swollen vent and it is a wider slit.

Thanks for the images! It def helps to compare with! I will pull the quail out this week and take another look, I hate doing anything to them because they get so upset if I do anything other than clean the cage and feed them! They are so much more sensitive than the chickens!
