They are 5 weeks old. I hatched them myself. I didn't realize they come in different colors and apparently that has no bearing on gender. They could be laying in a few weeks?! That's crazy. They seem like babies still. Here's pics of all 5. 2 white and yellow, one yellow and brown and 2 brown.

The golden italian speckled at bottom left Looks like a hen, but we'll need closer photos of the breast area, the white birds can only be sexed by vent sexing or waiting till they crow or lay an egg.

the yellow on the white birds will give way to white feathers soon.

Ok like do you need a pick of her (?) color of her breast? Or like her(?) shape? Also I think venting is for the experienced quail hatcher, what does the beer entail? Also what about the brown ones? Are those boys? Also are they supposed to make noise? Even when they lay how would I know who laid the egg, other than physically witnessing it? Sorry for the millions of questions. Thanks.

She won't look at me. So I caught her and here's her breast.

I'm pretty new to quail keeping but that looks like a male to me joplus. And as for azer i'd say that yours is probably a hen

How old is the chick? At three weeks it will be obvious which is male and which are female but up until then the feathers tend to look like hens. Good luck with your breeding programme.
